Getting ready to start a bathroom in Mount Baker!

11/28/2011

The end of this week will be the beginning of our next major remodel project.  A bathroom and laundry in Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood.  Going over this afternoon to meet with the plumber and the electrician.  We start on Friday prepping for demo with major demolition to start on Monday.

This is a small space, but with custom cabinets that also serve as part of the shower enclosure, space utilization is maximized.  The large bin behind the toilet is necessary to allow for access to the main clean out and will serve as a laundry hamper.

Greenwood kitchen is complete!

This week saw completion of  our latest kitchen remodel in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood.  I have as few detail photos to share and will return to photograph the entire kitchen as soon as the homeowners are able to finish hanging the doors and installing the drawers in the existing mid-century birch cabinets that they have so lovingly refinished

The custom, hand carved drainboard turned out very well.

These grooves were cut into the stone and then polished to a honed finish to compliment the Absolute Black Satin stone slab.  All stone and tile work was performed by our good friends at Quality Floors, LLC.

As always, Lea Howlett of High Roads Woodworks came through with excellent cabinets this time utilizing vintage plywood and new materials to match the existing  cabinets to a "t".

One of the last details was to fabricate this stainless steel heat shield between the refrigerator and the new open burner range from American Range.

In this view you can see how tight the spacing is.  The base cabinet to the left of the range is also new.

Current Project is coming along!

Well, hello folks, haven't written here for awhile, but that doesn't mean there hasn't been a lot going on.  The kitchen in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood is progressing well.  This week saw delivery and installation of cabinets.  Once again, Lea Howlett of High Road Woodworks has done a fantastic job.  The new cabinets are a perfect match for the existing mid-century vintage cabinets that the homeowners are so lovingly refinishing.

Counter top template is happening today, so the job should be all wrapped up in about two more weeks.  I'll be posting some pictures soon!

The next kitchen

It's been a busy few weeks here.  The usual summer activities, and of course summertime means projects!  We've been happy to take care of odds and ends while ramping up for our next big project; a kitchen in Seattle's Greenwood neighborhood.  This is a really interesting job, in that the owner's really like the existing cabinets and want to retain all of them while adding new ones that match perfectly, modifying the old as necessary to accommodate all the luxuries a new kitchen requires (little things like functioning vent hoods and a dishwasher).

Hope to be starting that one in the next week or two and will be sure to keep you posted here.  In the meantime, I finally got around to adding some photos to the Projects page, detailing our latest kitchen makeover.  Enjoy!

Well, we just finished of some extras that got tacked on to the end of the kitchen remodel we just completed in Seattle's Mount Baker neighborhood.  Namely refinishing the step and landing just off the kitchen at the back door.

Now that that's all finished and we're cleaned up and moved out this seems like a great time to look at some before and after pictures...

The kitchen in Seattle's Mt. Baker neighborhood is almost done.  We're still waiting on one or two items from the appliance supplier, but should see significant completion by the end of this week.

Or not, as the case may be!  Hard to believe it's been nearly a month since I've written, but it's been a very busy and productive one, at least.

When I last wrote I was just starting the sheetrock on the kitchen in Mt. Baker.  At this point the cabs are all set, tile floor and backsplash are installed and appliances arrive tomorrow.  I'll make a page for this project soon, but in the meantime, here are some of the latest progress shots.

Began the sheet rock phase this week, and expect to receive cabinets next week, and be ready to template for counter tops the week after that.  It's been a busy couple of weeks, with all the usual random discoveries, additions and new ideas.

Here are some progress shots for now.  I'll update the Projects page soon!
