Got a call last week from the neighbor of a former client, asking for some help with a bathroom and hall closet. They had both been redone just recently by a contractor who "was great, just not at finishing..." This seems to be something I hear a lot. "We really liked them, but at the end they just seemed to be in a hurry to get out of here." This seems to often be the corollary to "it was supposed to take 3 months, but really took 6 months..."
The fact is that by whether by accident or design these jobs were most likely undersold. Underestimated and underbid, many jobs are rushed to completion so that the contractor "can just get out of there"
For these reasons, I feel it's important to always include a detailed description of the scope of work involved with each job and exactly what is and isn't included in the price. By spending a little more time thinking through the job and making sure to include enough to bring the job to completion, we can avoid any surprises at the end, and work to find ways to achieve satisfactory completion while remaining within budget.
If you'd like to know what your project would cost (really) and what we can do to make that a price that works for you- call us!
