Spring is finally here in Seattle and as we come out of the doldrums of winter it's time to consider taking on some much needed construction projects and home improvements. Whether you're considering a new kitchen (indoor or outdoor), fixing up the old place, adding on, sprucing up the master bathroom, or just about any project large or small, choosing the right contractor can be the most important step of the whole process. At LScarpentry, we understand that finding the right fit between contractor and homeowner is crucial to the successful completion of any project to everyone's full satisfaction.
That's why we always encourage clients to talk to several construction firms before making a choice. While pricing can vary from company to company, and finding a price that fits your budget is important; it's often as important to choose someone you feel you can trust and feel comfortable with in your home. Working for a larger company, it was always uncertain whether the carpenter and homeowner would "mesh" until the job had already begun. I feel this is one of the great advantages of using an independent carpenter/contractor- the person that works with you from the very beginning of the process is there right through to the end, day in and day out.
I also recommend that you ask for and make contact with each contractor's references to get as much information as you can about not only the quality of the contractor's workmanship, but also their problem solving and communication skills. The ability to perform a beautiful trim job is important. The ability to do so while managing an ever evolving and complex schedule, overseeing the work of subcontractors and helpers and performing daily crisis management is what makes a contractor priceless.
Please go to our References page to request a list of our references. We're very proud of the work that we've done and of the friends we've made doing it. Our references are selected from a long list of happy homeowners and represents primarily families who've had us back for multiple jobs.
I love working as a remodeler in Seattle. All the great, old neighborhoods-Greenwood, Fremont, Queen Anne, Ballard, Madronna, Magnolia, West Seattle, Capital Hill, Leschi, Mount Baker, Columbia City, Georgetown, Beacon Hill, South Park, Wallingford, Belltown, Pioneer Square- each with it's own special character. Leigh and I really love Seattle and look forward to making many more friends here for years to come.
Please contact us if you'd like to discuss your home repair or renovation project!
